Eyelash Extension Aftercare
Eyelash extension aftercare is sometimes overlooked but that’s a huge mistake! Extensions elevate your eyes but with proper care, they can last up to three weeks.
Improper care can result in loss of your natural eyelashes and eye infections.
Your health is our top priority! We want you to feel as good as you look. That’s why we feel it’s important to share our Top 5 Tips for Eyelash Extension Aftercare!
Keep scrolling to see how to keep your lashes full and vibrant!
Silky Tip #1: Avoid Water for At Least 36-48 hours.
It’s important for eyelash extension glue to set as long as possible. Any moisture within the first 24 hours can cause an immediate fallout.
To prevent a fallout, we suggest that you stay away from moisture and extreme heat for as long as possible.
We also suggest that you stay away from saunas and facials, and lash tinting for at least 48 hours as well.
Extra Eyelash Extension Aftercare Tip: Avoid eyeliner and eyeshadow for the first couple of days as well.

Silky Tip #2: Avoid Oil Based Facial Products
Oil can easily break down the adhesive glue used for eyelash extensions. We suggest oil free facial cleansers and makeup removals. Make sure to avoid the eye area while applying to your face.
After, gently pat your face with a clean towel when you’re done.
Extra Tip: Avoid waterproof eye products like mascara and eyeliners.

Silky Tip #3: Avoid Eyelash Curlers and Mascara.
Friction from rubbing and eyelash curlers can damage your extensions and real lashes!
It’s best to avoid it as much as possible.
Mascara can cause clumps and clogs, resulting in damage to your lashes. If mascara is absolutely necessary, make sure it’s oil free!
Bonus Tip: Try eyelash extension with more volume at your next install appointment.
Silky Tip #4: Use Brushes and Spoolies
Of course you want to keep your lash extensions fluttery and in shape! To maintain your shape and volume, use lash brushes and spoolies to keep your extensions vibrant and like-new!
Make sure not to “over brush” your lashes, a few times a week should be enough to keep them in tip top shape.
Extra Tip: Soak an old mascara brush overnight in water. This will make an excellent lash brush without a trip to the store!

Silky Tip #5: Professional Removal and Fills.
Plucking your own eyelash extensions is a HUGE NO-NO! This can and will leave your natural eyelashes bald!
To maintain your eyelash extensions, we suggest professional removal and fills. Fills should be conducted every two to three weeks in order to maintain volume and shape.
